The Full Card

Cocktail Menu in Downtown Ocala

Every drink we pour, what's in it, and what it costs — 31 of them across three cards. The originals are ours. The traditionals are poured the way the people who invented them wrote them down. Prices are in US dollars and don't include tax or tip.

Behind the Menu

The rum is why these taste different.

A Mai Tai is four ingredients — it lives or dies on the rum. We keep independent bottlers and single-cask Caribbean on the shelf specifically so the classics taste like the originals rather than like a well drink with grenadine in it.

Menu questions

How much are cocktails at The Tipsy Skipper?

Classics start at $12, most tiki drinks run $15, and the biggest builds — the Zombie, Jungle Bird, Surfer's Blood, Clever Girl, Tarzan's Banana Brew, Dr. Funk — are $17.

Does the menu change?

The three printed cards here are the standing menu. On top of that there's a rotating seasonal card that follows whatever fruit is good, plus off-menu drinks the bartenders are working on. Ask what's new.

Do you make drinks that aren't on the menu?

Yes. Tell whoever's behind the bar what you like — a spirit, a flavour, or just 'something tart' — and you'll get something. That's the fun part of a rum shelf this deep.

What should I order if I've never had a tiki drink?

The Mai Tai, made properly, is the whole genre in one glass and nothing like the sweet red thing you're picturing. If you want something tropical and easy, the Boca Loca or the Guava Overboard. If you want a real ride, the Zombie.

Do you have non-alcoholic options?

We press our own juice daily, so yes — ask for any of the tropical builds without the rum and you'll get something worth drinking rather than a glass of pineapple juice.
